Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 7, 2026 · theportalos.com
Portal ("we", "us") is an early-stage product operated from the European Union. This policy explains what data we collect on this website and how we handle it. We keep it short and honest — this is a pre-launch site, and we collect very little.
1. What we collect
- Waitlist email. If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you provide so we can contact you about early access and product updates.
- Business description (optional). If you use the personalization feature and describe what you sell, that short text is processed by an AI service to tailor the examples shown on this page. The result is stored only in your own browser (localStorage), not in our database.
- Basic technical data. Our hosting and security providers (Cloudflare) may process standard technical data such as IP address and browser type to serve and protect the site.
2. What we do NOT do
- We do not sell or rent your data — ever.
- We do not run advertising or tracking pixels on this site.
- We do not send spam. Waitlist emails are limited to early access and major product news.
3. Processors we use
- Cloudflare — website hosting, DNS and security.
- OpenAI — processes the optional business description you type, solely to generate the personalized page content. We send only the text you enter; no account or contact data.
4. Legal basis & retention (GDPR)
We process your waitlist email based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time — one email to us and we delete your address. We keep waitlist data until launch communication is complete or until you ask us to remove it, whichever comes first.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@theportalos.com — we respond within 30 days.
6. The product (when it launches)
The Portal application will connect to e-commerce and messaging platforms on your behalf and will be governed by a dedicated, more detailed privacy policy and data processing agreement before any such data is handled. Data will be hosted in the EU.
